Plantation Xaymaca - Jamaica, neat: I was sold on the exotic name of it, choosing to try this one before the Haiti XO I was also considering (probably have it another time, watch this space!). The fragrance is a bit sweeter than you'd expect from a rum advertised as dry, but it's dry in your mouth first, then finishes with a little sweet flourish... Exciting, to say the least.

Plantation Pineapple - Plantation Rum (Not sure of this one's origins, so I've put it on the Jamaica page), one cube of ice: pineapple aroma in the mouth, yet not so the flavour. Very intriguing. Perhaps I need to try this one again, as my palate has changed a lot since I had this one.

Plantation HJC - Jamaica, neat: a limited edition, only 2000 bottles have been produced. It's worth getting if you're a collector. At 56.2%, it's a little harsh at first, but the aftertaste and warming sensation are very pleasant.

Compagnie des Indies - Jamaica, neat: a very traditional rum, there isn't much exciting to it, except for the fire in your belly sensation you get drinking it. As a "Navy Strength" it would probably be useful for cold, stormy nights.

Myers’s Original - Jamaica, mixed with ginger beer: pretty standard, nothing to write home about. Might try it neat one day, but there's plenty of other exciting rums to try first.
